Craft Hope Scarf

In my previous life (3 months ago) I was a social worker. I completed my MSW right after graduating college and I have been working ever since. In my present life, I am a stay at home mom to a 17 month old spunky red headed girl. When I came across Craft Hope a month ago, I thought to myself, "Could it be that I found an outlet to express my creative side and my social work side at the same time." Well, I did! I have dedicated so much of myself to helping others that sometimes I feel guilty doing things for myself. But I also have a passion to help those in need, thus the career choice, that if I am not doing that, I feel guilty. So as one way to volunteer my time, I completed a red scarf (with a little brown) to send for Valentine's Day to Craft Hope: Red Scarf Project for the Orphan Foundation of America. I will be checking this blog frequently to see what my next volunteer assignment is...

a lot of inspiration

Since I've been home I have had a lot of time to work on the things I love, especially crafting. I am always working on different types of craft projects (sometimes too many at a time).

Recently my friend and I attended the CHA Craft Supershow in Anaheim. It was craft heaven! There were so many vendors and new ideas to be seen. My friend and I mostly stuck with the scrapbooking/card making booths and picked up some really neat stamps and embellishments...and a lot of inspiration.

I made a few of these thank you cards with an adorable girl super hero stamp from Lizzie Anne Designs

This is my first time...

So, this will be my first post on my blog, obviously. Since it's the 1st of February, I think it's a fitting time to start. The whole idea of starting a blog came about by my new experience as a full time stay-at-home mom (a first for me). I have a beautiful 17 month old daughter (my first) and I think she is already reaping the benefits of our time together. As for what this blog will become...I'm not sure. I think I will let it evolve over time. Not everything has to be sooo planned out (a first for me).
